Meet Our Governors

Ayo Odusanya

Chair of Governors

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

My name is Ayo Odusanya, and I am honoured to take on the role of Chair of Governors at Stanton Vale School. Aligned with the school’s core values of Working Together, Respect, Aspiration, and Potential, I am fully committed to fostering an environment where each student has the opportunity to thrive, learn, and develop skills essential for adulthood.

In close partnership with the Headteacher, our Senior Leadership Team, and the wider school community, our Governors aim to provide strategic direction, unwavering support, and responsible oversight to ensure Stanton Vale continues to deliver an enriching, inclusive, and dynamic education for all students. We work together with the goal of:

  • Setting a Clear Vision and Direction: We are dedicated to strengthening Stanton Vale’s ethos and future strategy, always keeping the school’s values and students’ best interests at the forefront of our decisions.
  • Supporting and Empowering Staff: Our role is to encourage and equip the Headteacher and her team to reach new heights, creating an environment where staff and students alike feel empowered and valued.
  • Maintaining Accountability and High Standards: As a governing body, we are here to ensure that Stanton Vale meets and exceeds educational standards, providing every student with a learning experience that is enriching and impactful.
  • Overseeing Financial Stewardship: In these challenging times, we remain committed to careful and strategic use of the school’s resources to maximise benefits for our students and community.

As Chair, I bring both a collaborative spirit and a commitment to continuous improvement, acting as a supportive and thoughtful partner to our Headteacher. My focus is not only on the educational journey of each student at Stanton Vale but also on their successful transition into adulthood. I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of this remarkable school and to being an active member of its dedicated community.

Mark Madison

Vice Chair of Governors

I am a driven and target-motivated individual who consolidates the skills and experience I have gained in both the military and civilian sectors.

As an effective communicator, I engender trust and build the platform for relationships – working to exacting standards to achieve required outcomes and deliver results.
With over 30 years of experience across various sectors, from the RAF to outdoor events management and forensic healthcare.

Gemma Crammond – Co-opted Governor

I started as a parent governor in September 2020.  Due to not being well in 2023 I had to stop as a governor for most of the year, but was keen to get back to being part of the governing board at Stanton Vale School.  Prior to having my son, my background has been in training and education.  I worked with young people with disabilities, supporting them to use public transport independently.  Prior to that I worked in mediation and conflict resolution, as well as mental health/personal development.

I’m passionate about supporting Stanton Vale to be the best it can be, and help provide a happy, safe and enabling environment for all its students.

As a parent governor I am keen to provide a parent perspective, and encourage great communication between school and student’s families/carers.

Aimee Perkinson

I joined Stanton Vale as a Governor in July 2023. I currently work in Education as a Deputy Headteacher of a Primary School in Long Eaton where my role involves teaching and supporting the development of the school. I have been teaching since 2012 and have been Designated Safeguarding Lead in my previous school for 2 years. I have a first-class degree in Education Studies, I have a keen interest in Special Educational Needs as well as Safeguarding and I hope to bring my knowledge and experience to the role of Governor.

Chloe Underwood

I joined as a governor in December 2023 and currently work in Communications at a university. I became a governor at Stanton Vale, as I wanted to add value to my community after moving to the area.

Already in my short time as a governor, I can see that Stanton Vale is a wonderful school, dedicated to providing a safe and happy place for students to learn and grow.

I hope that in my time as a governor I can help Stanton Vale provide opportunities for their students and staff.
